Software Validation & Verification Developer

Our client, company in the field of telecoms / IT is seeking to fill a Software Validation & Verification Developer position. As Software Validation & Verification Developer in the Software Defined Radio team, you will work on the validation and conformance of the products, but you will also participate in the design, architecture definition, implementation, and integration of the 2G/2.5G, 3G and 4G / LTE software solutions. You will closely work with the system and embedded software architects during the specification, implementation, and integration phases.

 

Responsibilities

  • Specify, implement and execute the complete baseband and front-end system validation and conformance plan according to the 3GPP specifications;
  • Write validation and conformance specifications in line with software architecture;
  • Organize and execute the validation and conformance plans with state of the art RF and base-station testers;
  • Generate validation reports for internal and external use.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • Strong desire to expand your current skillset in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Overall work experience: 2 to 4 years in software design or software design validation;
  • Knowledge of wireless protocols is an asset;
  • Knowledge of :
    • Programming languages: C/C++
    • Several script languages is an asset (bash, python etc.)
    • Cellular validation procedures and 3GPP conformance testing
    • Development tools: Microsoft Visual Studio
    • Test equipment and tools (example: spectrum analyzer, channel simulator, … etc )
  • Good English writing skills and oral English are required; oral French is an asset;
  • Experience working in an agile software development environment.

Software Test Developer (NPI)

Our customer, creator of inovative solutions in IT is seeking to fill a Software Test Developer (NPI) position. The Software Test Developer (NPI Team) develops automated test systems for RF Systems, Boards and Chips. The test solution is based on a combination of software tools, hardware tools and measurement equipment.  The software will interface with databases to get test plans and procedures and save the test results. The Developer will interface with other groups in order to facilitate the development.

 

Responsibilities

  • As part of the NPI team, the software test developer is involved in the development, integration, validation and maintenance of various software for manufacturing test systems.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to test processes.
  • Will be involved in the evolution and maintenance of the test database MySQL
  • Will collaborate with the QA team in the analysis of test results data.
  • Will perform code reviews and propose solutions to resolve problems.
  • All other related tasks within the NPI team.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (software, electronics), or equivalent degree
  • About 4 years of experience in a similar position, or a combination of education and equivalent experience, with a minimum of:
    • 2 years of experience in designing systems or board test software
  • Proficiency with at least one of the following software: C ++, C#, Python, NI Labview, NI Teststand,
  • Comfortable with Agile Software development,
  • Excellent knowledge of English and French, both oral and written
  • Experience in RF an asset

The candidate will be responsible for presales and customers support for the fastest growing business segment within the company. You will accompany the customers throughout the development cycle of their products, from design to integration and testing phases. Your responsibility includes demonstrations and training sessions.

As an International Pre-Sales / Customer Support Engineer, you will have to:

  • Work closely with the Sales Team and potential clients for all stages of the sales cycle, from design to integration testing and deployment;
  • Offer technical assistance to customers with regards to hardware, electronic components, systems, embedded software and wireless core;
  • Train customers to integrate the product;
  • Contribute to the sales team’s effort in customer meetings with technical demonstrations and presentations;
  • Participate in writing and revising technical documents;
  • Work with the sales, engineering and product management team to ensure the sale of the products;
  • Participate in trade shows and conferences with the sales team.

 

Your profile will hold our attention if you have:

  • Bachelor’s (or better) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering;
  • 3 years or more of experience in a similar position or as an embedded software developer or application engineer;
  • Strong knowledge of mobile base stations, of mobile protocols and standards, testing phases and field deployment, etc.;
  • Experienced with some of the following: LTE, GSM, UMTS;
  • Knowledge of Linux Systems and C / C ++;
  • Excellent spoken and written English + French beginner or better;
  • Excellent skills for teamwork, interpersonal skills, and are autonomous, resoursful and self-motivated;
  • Are able to travel about 25% of the time (Europe and U.S.A.).
